Laboratory Technician II

The Campbell Lab at the University of Virginia is hiring a Laboratory Technician to conduct research into the neural control of appetite, digestion, and metabolism. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, attentive to detail, and capable of working independently and will need to assist in a variety of day-to-day research activities, including (but not limited to) the following: mouse surgery (e.g., stereotaxic injections of viral vectors, optical fiber implantation), husbandry, and genotyping; tissue processing for immunofluorescence, in situ hybridization, and RNA-Seq; maintaining lab supplies and equipment; training, documentation, and animal protocol management. Experience in one or more of these areas is strongly preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience. The earliest start date is April 1st, 2019.
